A stay at the Palacete Rodriquez, Anjuna, Goa

Hi,

This is a guest post from a friend. I am sharing this for two reasons. 1) It's a review of a hotel which apparently had good ratings and reviews online which is why they made a booking in the first place 2) It's insanely funny. So, let's give the gentleman a say.

The Palacete Rodriquez, Anjuna, Goa

"Pros - Has two very cute ginger kittens

Cons - Horrible rooms, zero maintenance, got bedbug bites all over after sleeping for an hour. The room smelled like they hid a corpse in the closet. My friend and I fell ill after using the swimming pool. I am sure the towels were donated during World war I. The Air conditioner is like a mantelpiece. The water heater isn't supposed to serve hot water. Indus Valley civilization had better plumbing. The lights flicker more than all horror movies combined. The staff appear to be friendly until they show their true colours which is nothing short of hooliganism. Seems like they follow the footsteps of the owner who thinks she needs an award to argue about less than acceptable living conditions. She even tried to convince us that she went out of the way to ensure we had a cot below our mattress. This place is the perfect example of why there is so much mistrust in India. A typical example where people try to take advantage of people's helplessness and predicament to make an extra buck. The car park availability happens to include the street as well. Obviously, it comes with your own downfall if there is any damage.

The final nail in the coffin came when one of the staff members tried to hurt one of the kittens because he ate from a leftover plate. His colleagues stopped him, and my friends stopped me from beating him to a pulp. Anyone harming an innocent, docile, harmless baby should tell you everything you need to know about their hospitality.

The only people I will recommend this hotel to is people who wish to spend the rest of their lives in prison and need to be trained for it. For the rest, sleeping on the beach will be a better option, even if you are mugged and your kidney is stolen."
