Sampoorn Santhe- Back to Nature, at Kalakshetra

I have always been curious when it comes to exhibitions. I need to step inside and look at all the wares on display. When I spotted the yellow banner of Sampoorn Santhe, I couldn't contain myself from going in, inspite of feeling a little under the weather. Just a quick look, I promised myself .

This is not a review, but a crisp information photo walk.

The Sampoorn Santhe revolves around the "Back to Nature" theme and is at the spacious Kalakshetra Foundation. You will find car parking in their main campus which is right across the road. It is on until this weekend (15th October 2017), open from 10 am to 8 pm. There is no entry fee charged.  I must confess this is just a partial representation of all the lovely things they have to offer. The afternoon sun was harsh and I was feeling unwell and rushed home for some respite. I could cover only about 10 stalls at the Santhe.

These little ceramic birds grabbed my attention. They would look so pretty sitting atop your terrace garden or even swinging gaily in your balcony.

Rustic looking coasters adorned with ceramic flowers

For the ladies who love beads.

Wooden ladles and bowls

This pretty kili koodai made out of grass; can be used as a fruit basket.

Mul-mul cotton dohars, razhais and bedspreads.

Breezy ikkat cottons.

I also spotted stalls selling Beautiful lampshades, Madhubani paintings, Wooden Yazhis, Terracota fountains. I hope to devote the Santhe a few hours another day this week.

Be sure to visit the Sampoorn Santhai this week at Kalakshetra grounds, Besant Nagar, Chennai. For more information please visit, www.sampoorn.org
